Aura is a chat-based AI assistant that helps you work with your documents in DocuWare. You can ask questions in human language, and Aura retrieves, reads, and summarizes content from your documents. All document formats supported by DocuWare are supported by Aura. Aura is available in the new DocuWare in three places: the Document Viewer, the search results list, and Aura Chat.
Ways to use Aura
You can use Aura in a result list or in the Document Viewer right away, no configuration is needed. To use Aura Chat, an administrator must first configure it.
Document Viewer: Click the three-star icon to ask Aura about the currently open document.
Search results: Select up to 15 documents in a result list and click the three-star icon to ask Aura about the selected documents.
Aura Chat: Available in the left sidebar navigation. Ask Aura about any documents in the file cabinets that have been enabled for Aura Chat. Aura automatically retrieves the best-matching documents, reads their content, and replies with a human-readable answer.
The administrator of your organization must define which file cabinets Aura Chat can access in DocuWare Configurations > Aura. Only those file cabinets will be visible to users.

Next, follow these steps to use the Aura chat:
Open the Aura by clicking on the three-star icon on the left toolbar.
Read the Terms & Conditions and enable Aura, if not already enabled.
Select the file cabinets that Aura Chat will use as context for your questions.
Click Apply.
Your existing permissions for documents and index fields still apply. Aura only returns content you are authorized to see. Documents and their content do not leave the DocuWare servers at any time, keeping your data always safe.
For now, Aura delivers the best results in English and German. You can also ask questions in Latin-based languages such as French, Spanish, and others, as long as both your question and your documents are written in the same language. Do not mix languages, for example, asking in French while your documents are in English. It might work, but Aura is not trained for this.
Aura can make mistakes. Verify important information before you rely on it.
Current limitations
Aura Chat currently supports up to 5,000 documents at a time for now - this is the current "Freemium" version. When selecting file cabinets for Aura Chat, ensure the total number of documents across all selected cabinets remains within this limit. Administrators can review the current credit usage in the Aura configuration. Individual users see a small banner when they approach or reach the token limit.
Each organization receives a shared daily usage quota for Aura at no extra cost. This quota resets automatically at the end of each day.
