A stamp is a predefined mark that you place on a document in the viewer of the DocuWare client, for example "Approved", "Received", or a date stamp. Stamps make a decision visible on the document itself, so anyone who opens it later sees what has already happened to it.
A stamp can do more than mark the page. Depending on how it was set up, applying it also writes index entries or starts a workflow. Its appearance and its behavior follow that configuration, so you cannot change them while stamping.
You find your stamps in the viewer. Open a document, then select the Stamps icon in the annotation toolbar. The list shows the stamps assigned to you, and you need the Set stamps permission for the file cabinet you are working in.
Supported versions: DocuWare Cloud + new DocuWare client only

Coming from the classic DocuWare client?
In the classic client, open the new DocuWare client with the link Open new DocuWare. Your stamps, their assignment, and the stamp permission are the same as in classic DocuWare. One thing is new:
If many stamps are assigned to you, the list starts with a search field. The classic client has no search field for stamps.
The new DocuWare client is available in DocuWare Cloud for now. On-premises systems continue to work with the classic client.
Applying a stamp
Open the document in the viewer.
Select the Stamps icon in the annotation toolbar. The list shows all stamps assigned to you.
Point at a stamp to see how it will look.
Select the stamp. It now follows your cursor.
Select the position on the page where the stamp belongs.
If the stamp expects information from you, for example a comment or a date, you are asked for it before it is placed.
The stamp stays selected after you place it, so you can stamp several pages of the same document without picking it again.
Important
A placed stamp cannot be deleted. Check the position and any entries you are asked for before you place the stamp.

Finding a stamp in a long list
If many stamps are assigned to you, the list starts with a search field. Type part of the stamp name to shorten the list.

Notes for administrators
Stamps are configured as in classic DocuWare in DocuWare Configurations > Stamps. Stamps keep their settings, and nothing has to be set up again for the new DocuWare client.
Placing a stamp requires the permission to place stamps, granted with the other annotation permissions.
More about file cabinet permissions and list functions
A placed stamp cannot be deleted, so a stamp that writes index entries or starts a workflow acts once and for good.
