The Manage pages option works on the pages inside a PDF document. Use it when the content of the document is correct but its pages are not: a page is upside down, a page is missing, or a page belongs to the next invoice.
The origin of the PDF does not matter. A document that arrived by email, a document you merged from several PDFs, and a document that was stored months ago are all treated the same.
Supported versions: DocuWare Cloud + new DocuWare client only

Coming from the classic DocuWare client?
In the classic client, open the new DocuWare client with the link Open new DocuWare.
The option Manage pages is new: the classic client has no equivalent, so nothing you know from there is replaced.
The page view is available for PDF documents only.
The new DocuWare client is available in DocuWare Cloud only for now. On-premises systems continue to work with the classic client.
Opening the page view
Select a PDF document in a document tray, in your search results, or in a task list.
Right-click the document, or open its menu with the three dots, and select Manage pages.
The document opens in the full viewer with the page panel shown, so you see all pages next to each other while you work. All other viewer functions stay available.
Reordering, rotating, and deleting pages
Select Edit in the page view. You can then:
Move pages into a different order.
Rotate pages that were scanned the wrong way round.
Delete pages that do not belong to the document.
Annotations belong to their page. They are moved, rotated, and deleted with it.
Important
A page deleted within the Manage pages option is gone for good. There is no confirmation prompt, and the Trash Bin does not apply, so check which page you have selected before you delete it.
Changing the pages of a stored document does not create a new version of it. The change is recorded in the document history as an Edit content event.
Adding pages
Select Add pages to take the pages of another PDF into the open document. The added pages become part of that document, so you end up with one document, not two.
The PDF you add comes from the local file system or from a document tray. File cabinets are not available as a source, so a document that is already stored has to reach a document tray before its pages can be added to another document.
The open document can be in a document tray or already stored in a file cabinet. Adding pages is therefore the way to extend a document that is in the file cabinet.
You can sort the pages after adding them. Select Save to apply the changes.
Adding pages or attaching
Both bring another document to the one you have open, and they end differently.
Add pages makes the pages part of the open PDF. Afterwards there is one document.
Attach files keeps the added document as a file of its own inside a set. The files stay separate and can have different formats.
Both commands open the document in the full viewer, only with a different panel: Attach files opens the attach files panel, Manage pages opens the page panel.
Splitting the document from this view
For a document in a document tray, the page view also offers Separate file. Use it when the pages are not pages of one document at all, but several documents that were scanned in one go. Every page then becomes a document of its own.
Note
The functions Merge, Add and Separate work on PDF documents, and they start from different places.
Merge combines several PDF documents that you select in a document tray.
Add pages in the page view brings the pages of another PDF into the document you have open, and it also works for a document in a file cabinet.
Both end with one PDF. Two documents that are already stored cannot be merged. Either of them may be part of a running workflow, which the merge would disrupt.
The function Separate file is reachable from two places, the menu of a document in a tray and the page view. In both cases it splits a PDF in a document tray into one document per page. See Merge and attach.
Current limitations
Pages of a document that carries stamps cannot be reordered or deleted. Adding pages and separating the document still work.
Manage pages is not available for electronic invoices as PDFs with embedded attachments.
Pages can only be added from the local file system or a document tray. A file cabinet cannot be used as a source.
A stored document cannot be separated, because Separate file needs the document in a document tray and a stored document cannot be copied into one yet.
Notes for administrators
Manage pages requires no specific configuration.
In a document tray no file cabinet is involved, so a user can manage pages there without a file cabinet permission. As soon as a stored document takes part, the permissions of its file cabinet apply, granted in DocuWare Configurations > File Cabinets.
More information about permissions and dialogs
Changing pages does not create a new version of a stored document. The document history records an Edit content event.
The viewer renders a supported PDF in the browser. It switches to the server for a PDF that uses XFA, carries an XML invoice attachment, has pages with very large dimensions, or that the browser cannot process efficiently, and whenever rendering in the browser fails.
