The DocuWare E-Invoicing Service > General Configuration tab displays your legal entity's connection details for the Peppol network. DocuWare E-Invoicing Service manages this connection on your behalf as your e-invoicing service provider. The General Configuration tab contains two sections: Peppol and Tax Reporting.
Peppol
The Peppol section displays your legal entity's connection details for the Peppol network. DocuWare E-Invoicing Service manages this connection on your behalf as your e-invoicing service provider.
All fields are read-only and are populated automatically based on the information provided during the DocuWare E-Invoicing Service Company Registration. If any details need to be changed, contact DocuWare Support.
Status: Shows whether Peppol is activated or deactivated for this legal entity.
Registered Name: The name under which your legal entity is registered in the Peppol network. This should match the company name used during registration.
Peppol ID/Identifier: The unique identifier of your legal entity in the Peppol network. The format is country-specific and is based on the tax identification information provided during registration. Share this ID with your suppliers so they can send e-invoices to your company via the Peppol network.
Depending on the country profile, some settings may be editable while others are fixed. For example, in Belgium and France, use of the Peppol network is mandatory and the Peppol configuration cannot be changed.
Information: Peppol network
Peppol (Pan-European Public Procurement Online) is a set of open standards and a network for exchanging e-procurement documents, especially e-invoices, in a consistent, interoperable way. Within the Peppol network, the invoice payload is always structured XML based on the EN 16931 standard. Whether Peppol is mandatory depends on the company's country and, in some cases, on the transport type (B2G vs. B2B).
Activating and deactivating Peppol
Whether Peppol can be activated or deactivated depends on the country of your legal entity:
Optional (for example Germany): Use the Activate or Deactivate button to enable or disable Peppol for this legal entity.
Mandatory (for example Belgium): Peppol is required and cannot be deactivated after activation. If Peppol is not activated for a mandatory country, the configuration cannot be saved.
France: Peppol is activated automatically upon registration in the Annuaire.
Migrating an existing Peppol ID
If your legal entity already has a Peppol ID registered with another provider, migration options are available when activating Peppol. For details on migration scenarios and required steps, see the article Registration and Onboarding (coming soon). That article covers the relevant steps and information for the onboarding process, including how to handle the migration of Peppol IDs in the Peppol Registry or Annuaire.
Note for France
When a French legal entity is first configured, the Registered Name and Peppol ID/Identifier fields are initially empty. These fields are populated automatically once the e-Reporting France configuration has been activated and the legal entity has been published in the Annuaire. See Tab Sending > e-Reporting France for configuration steps.
Verifying that the registration is published for your legal entity
Once the configuration is saved, go to General Configuration > Peppol. You’ll see two statuses for the corresponding configuration towards Peppol Activated or Deactivated. You can verify that you are registered with the following tools/lookups.
SML (Service Metadata Locator) - the global DNS-like lookup service that resolves a Peppol participant identifier to the corresponding SMP.
SMP (Service Metadata Publisher) - the metadata service that stores the participant's routing information; the SML points to the SMP.
Peppol Directory - the listing on the public Peppol Directory.

Adding SIREN Suffixes and SIRETs (exclusively for French companies)
If your company is located in France or French overseas territories, you can add additional e-invoice addresses to your main legal entity with SIREN and SIRETs. This feature allows you to route invoices to individual sites or units, as required by French e-invoicing legislation. After adding a new e-invoice address, you must publish it.
SIREN Suffix: 9-digit number that identifies the legal entity. Example: SIREN + <SUFFIX > 123456789_GENEXP
SIRET: 14-digit number that identifies one establishment of that company, such as a site, branch, or agency. It consists of the SIREN plus a 5-digit establishment number and a check digit. Example: 12345678900015.
Prerequisite
Your legal entity must be registered for the DocuWare E-Invoicing Service with a valid 9-digit SIREN. Only then can you add suffixes and SIRETs. See Overview: DocuWare E-Invoicing Service for the registration requirements and How-to configure DocuWare E-Invoicing Service for the setup.
SIREN suffixes and SIRETs rules:
You can only add SIRETs and SIREN suffixes that start with the same 9-digit SIREN as the legal entity registered in DocuWare. A SIRET starting with a different SIREN belongs to another company. If required, you have to register that company as a separate legal entity instead.
SIRETs and SIREN Suffixes are organizational units of the same company. They do not create a new legal entity or a new SIREN.
Once the SIREN Suffix or SIRET is published, they become a sub-identifier for the tax identification of the main legal entity (SIREN).
The SIREN Suffix and the SIRET will be automatically published in the Peppol Directory and Annuaire.
The use of additional SIREN Suffixes and SIRETs creates new accounts for sending and receiving invoices for the dedicated legal entities. There are no additional costs for SIREN Suffixes and SIRETs.
Adding a SIREN suffix or SIRET (organizational unit):
Go to the DocuWare E-Invoicing Service > General Configuration.
Select or create the French legal entity for which you want to manage identifiers.
In Additional SIREN Suffixes and SIRETs section, click + to add a new entry.
The parent account name and its associated SIREN number are pre-filled automatically.
In the field Type, select one of the following:
SIRET | for individual sites or establishments (identifier: 0009)
SIREN suffix | e.g. for cost centers (identifier: 8040)
After selecting the type, enter the complete SIRET or SIREN with suffix (including the additional code).
Provide a meaningful title for the new entry. The title will be displayed later in the Task Viewer.
Optionally, you can update the address fields for Street, City, Postal Code, and Province for this entry.
Click Create to save.
The new entry appears in the table of Additional SIREN Suffixes and SIRETs and is immediately activated for Peppol. The Tax Report settings are published if the SIREN already has a Tax Report setting saved and activated. Otherwise, you can activate Tax Report settings later for each organizational unit.
Changing information for an existing SIREN suffix or SIRET (organizational unit):
Go to the DocuWare E-Invoicing Service > General Configuration.
Select a French legal entity for which you want to manage identifiers.
In Additional SIREN Suffixes and SIRETs section, double-click the row of the entry.
Edit the SIREN title address, city, postal code, or province fields and save.
You cannot change the stored identifier, which is the SIREN suffix or SIRET for this legal entity.
Deleting a SIREN suffix or SIRET (organizational unit):
A SIREN suffix or SIRET can be deleted if no invoices have been sent or received with this identifier. Otherwise, there is no way to delete the organizational unit. The reason for this is that the tax liabilities for this account are connected to the DGFiP, which denies the removal of the created tax identifier.
Configure tax reporting per unit
On the Sending tab, you can configure the Tax Report Settings for each SIRET or SIREN Suffix. For entries that have not been published yet, you can also activate tax reporting in the same place.
Tax Reporting
Enable Tax Reporting: Enable this option to activate tax reporting for sent and received invoices within your company's registered country. The report scope and included document types depend on your country's legal requirements. This setting is currently available for France (FR) and Poland (PL). When enabled, the additional field Tax Report Status Field becomes available on the Receiving tab.
