URL Integration in Outlook

Prev Next

You can easily integrate a URL integration in Outlook. This allows you for example to integrate a DocuWare task list in Outlook. This is particularly convenient for people who work in Outlook a lot, as it allows them to see all the documents to be processed in DocuWare, for example all invoices to be approved, from an Outlook folder.

Emails archived in DocuWare can also be displayed in Outlook via a URL integration. This allows you for example to access all your incoming and outgoing e-mails for a particular project from Outlook, without having to forward the e-mails to your Inbox. For this application you archive the emails and create a URL that contains the search query to the e-mails you need.

Start by creating a folder in Outlook for the Outlook integration. Open the folder properties via the context menu and go to the Home Page tab. To display the URL integration in the folder, enable the Show home page by default for this folder option and enter the URL of the URL integration in the Address field.

In an integration of Web Client in Outlook, please note that in Outlook the entry field for the URL is limited to a maximum of 129 characters. In exceptional cases, the limit of 129 characters may be exceeded, for example by a long domain name or if the URL contains the user name and password. An encrypted URL can also be longer than the decrypted form. If the URL is too long, contact the administrator of your Web Server. They will be able to define routings that convert a short URL into a longer URL.In addition you can specify an html file which then redirects to the integration URL.
