Forms introduces the Prefix-only Search option for dropdown fields based on select lists. This feature is to enhance the usability where wildcard search, introduced with version 7.12 for dropdowns, does not offer intended results, e.g. with number-oriented entries.
Application
A user wants to search for example for a value that starts with 6 and enters therefor “6” in the dropdown field. With the wildcard search from version 7.12, the select list offers all entries containing a 6. With the new Prefix-only Search option, the select list only shows the entries starting with 6.
