DocuWare supports different authentication methods to control how users sign in. Organization administrators select which methods are available to their users in DocuWare Configuration > Organization Settings > Security.
The available authentication methods are:
Login with username and password
Login with username, password, and two-step verification (optional)
Login with username, password, and two-step verification (required)
Login with single sign-on, using an external identity provider
Which method applies to you depends on your organization's security policy. Your administrator can tell you which method is configured.
Setting up two-step verification
If your administrator has required two-step verification, you must configure it at your next login. You need an authenticator app that supports time-based one-time passwords (TOTP), for example Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, or Duo Mobile. Your IT administrator will recommend an app.
At the next login:
Enter your username and password on the login screen.
If the credentials are correct, DocuWare presents a screen with a QR code:

Scan the QR code with your authenticator app. The app automatically creates a new entry for DocuWare.
The authenticator app generates a new six-digit verification code every 30 seconds. If a new code has already appeared, the previous code remains valid for a short overlap period. Enter the current code in the browser and click Verify.
Setup is complete. From now on, every login requires both your password and a verification code from the authenticator app.
