Managing the DocuWare for Outlook settings

Prev Next

Click on the wrench icon to open the settings for DocuWare for Outlook. The following options are available:

General

Clear memory cache: This option logs the user out of DocuWare for Outlook and resets the personal settings of the user.

  • DocuWare organization URL will be deleted from the connection settings. You will need to re-enter the URL and your login the next time you open the app.

  • There will be no default preselection for the storage locations.

  • Sort order and visibility settings of the storage locations will be deleted.

The permissions granted by the user and/or the administrator to use the DocuWare for Outlook add-in are not affected.

Storage locations

Define your preferred  default storage methods using one of the two options:

  • Select from existing configuration (recommended): allows you to use in DocuWare for Outlook an email configuration previously defined for your organization, originally created for use with the Connect to Outlook module in Classic Outlook.

  • Select location and format: choose the storage location and format each time you store an email.

If you select the manual storage by activating the Select location and format option, the Sync store location toggle becomes visible to be selected or deselected.

  • If this option is activated, the sort order and the visibility settings of the document trays and file cabinets / store dialogs are transferred from your DocuWare Web Client to the DocuWare for Outlook app.

    • Changes to the storage locations in the Web Client are automatically applied. A refresh of the app is required for the changes to be displayed directly in the Outlook app.

    • Make sure to save your changes so that they are applied when you re-enter the app next time.

  • If the sync option is disabled, you may sort document trays and store dialogs manually, and show/hide them.

    • The initial order of the document trays, file cabinets, and store dialogs is adopted from the DocuWare Web Client.

    • Once the visibility or the order of the items has changed, the document trays, file cabinets, and store dialogs recently assigned to the user are displayed at the end of the respective list.

    • Store dialogs can only be moved within the list of the file cabinet they belong.

    • If you activate the sync with the web client again, any settings you may have applied to the storage locations will be saved in the background. The changes will be applied again, if you disable the web client synchronization later.

    • Storage locations for which the user no longer has permission are removed after the refresh of the app.

    • Make sure to save your changes so that they are applied when you re-enter the app next time.

No sync to the Web Client

Settings that you make in DocuWare for Outlook for manual storage are not transferred to the Web Client.
