DocuWare Cloud: Central Gateway

In Central Gateway Settings configuration module, organization administrators control the access of IP addresses and domains to the DocuWare Cloud organization.

Central Gateway Settings are only visible to organization administrators of DocuWare Cloud organizations.

Users may only access a DocuWare Cloud organization via the IP addresses entered in the central gateway. This allows organizations for example to control which devices can access their services, preventing unauthorized access.

In addition, as of September 1, 2025, DocuWare elements such as forms or dialogs can only be embedded into websites whose domains are entered in the Central Gateway Settings - see also below.

IP filtering and domain control reduce the risks of an attack by ensuring that only desired data traffic enters the network.

Configuration notes

To define IP filtering and domain control go to DocuWare Configuration > General > Central Gateway Settings.

There are two sections IP addresses and Domains.

IP addresses

Enter specific IP addresses or ranges of IP addresses from which the DocuWare Cloud services should be accessible.

Currently we support Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4).

As long as no IP address is listed here, all IP addresses have access to the DocuWare Cloud Organization.
However, if one IP address is entered, the access control takes effect and only the addresses specified here have access to the Cloud Organization.

Domains

Enter domains as 'https://subdomain.webseite.com' or 'http://subdomain.website.com'.

Until September 1, 2025, it is not mandatory to enter domains in the central gateway. Integration of DocuWare elements will work as before, even if the embedding website is not listed here.

As of September 1, 2025, the security guidelines (CORS = Cross-Origin Resource Sharing) for the integration of elements of DocuWare Cloud (web forms, results lists, etc.) into other web applications will be increased.
These applications must then be entered in the central gateway settings at the latest so that the integrations work as usual. If the list is empty as of September 1, 2025, DocuWare elements can NOT be used by any external domain anymore.

Note: Administrators may access the central gateway directly via API. Read more about this in the Support Knowledge Base.
