Create important documents in a standalone digital file cabinet. With the integrated browser, external service providers or customers can search and view documents – without DocuWare or other additional software.
Re-import is also possible: Add the documents from a standalone file cabinet to your document management system again.
Application
Standalone file cabinets simplify the exchange of information. In the case of a financial audit, for example, you compile all the relevant documents for a fiscal year, export them to a Request file cabinet and hand it to the auditor on a USB stick.

A Request file cabinet can be created with any DocuWare license. No DocuWare license is required to access documents in a standalone Request file cabinet.
Note for customers using DocuWare in an on-premises system: The Request file cabinets must be stored in a central storage location that the users access for the download. If the server and client machine are in the same network, you can set up a storage location with a UNC connection. Otherwise, you need an FTP server.
You can set up a storage location in DocuWare Administration at system level under the item Storage locations. Specify Type: File system and Used for: DocuWare Request. Make sure that you do not enter a local path, but rather a UNC path, such as \\computer\requestshare, or an FTP directory. The FTP directory must be password-protected. When entering a path for an FTP directory, use the following syntax: ftp://adminName:adminPassword@server-name/subdir/
If both FTP and UNC storage locations are set up, the system automatically selects the FTP directory.
If no storage location is configured, DocuWare Request cannot be called up.
