First off, the new Workflow Designer, or **Web-based Worfklow Designer**, is HTML-based, bringing it into alignment with all other DocuWare components, and it can be accessed directly within *DocuWare Configurations*. Furthermore, being “web-based”, the new Workflow Designer no longer requires installation on a specific device, but is rather accessible from any device or location, offering greater flexibility and convenience. While easy access is a key update to the Web-based Workflow Designer, DocuWare has also given the interface a more modern touch, improving its usability and aesthetic design. ## New features in the Web-based Workflow Designer The following changes have been made compared to the previous [Workflow Designer](https://knowledgecenter.docuware.com/help/docs/workflow-manager-configurations): - **Flexibility and oversight with decision-makers:** Now you can assign the decision-maker directly within each individual task. - **Action-based output:** Rather than chaining separate conditions towards one output, now each individual action can determine a specific, unchained output. - **Auto-saving**: All your progress in the Web-based Workflow Designer will be [saved automatically](https://knowledgecenter.docuware.com/docs/webbased-workflow-designer-canvas-tools#where-is-the-save-button), saving time and preventing data loss. - **Configuration changes**: Enable tracing, undo, and redo of user changes within a session to recover from accidental modifications. - **Multiselect actions** Copy, paste, duplicate, or delete multiple actions on the Web-based Workflow Designer /help/docs/webbased-workflow-designer-canvas-tools to save time and eliminate small errors. - **More keyboard shortcuts** Speed up your process with this [list of shortcuts](https://knowledgecenter.docuware.com/help/docs/webbased-workflow-designer-canvas-tools#are-there-keyboard-shortcuts-available). - **Highlight or hide connectors**: For a better or cleaner overview of your workflow, you can highlight or hide specific connectors, such as regular, error, or timeout connectors. - **Customize error handling**: Configure how specific workflows respond to unexpected interruptions by defining automatic subsequent steps the user will be met with. - **Export selected workflows**: Rather than [exporting](https://knowledgecenter.docuware.com/help/docs/webbased-workflow-designer-dashboard#4-export-and-import-workflows) all workflows, choose which specific workflows you want to export. - **Updated terminology**: - **Arithmetic expressions** are now referred to as **expressions**. - **Assign to**: This activity has been changed to the option **Decision-maker**, which is now embedded in a task action. ## Removed feature - **Testing**: You can no longer test a workflow in the Web-based Workflow Designer. ## Supported versions: DocuWare Cloud + 7.14
