# System administration

With DocuWare 7.14 and later all configurations elements of DocuWare Administration are moved to the browser-based DocuWare Configurations or to the app DocuWare Server Manager. The former desktop app “DocuWare Administration” is therefore discontinued.

The DocuWare Server Manager replaces the DocuWare Administration and DocuWare Service Control, providing a single app for all on-premises server administration.

#### Up to DocuWare version 7.13

DocuWare Administration covers primarily the administration and maintenance of the DocuWare Server, which is required for a DocuWare on-premises system.
