Web services: Attaching documents and using new endpoints

Component: Workflow Designer

Within the web services activity, you can now attach the current document to an HTTP request before it is sent to an external REST web service then. In addition, the new endpoints "Append a new file" and "Replace a file" are available.

 Applications

  • Integrate additional AI services for capturing document content: For example, send an archived invoice to a service that captures the document data and assigns it to index fields or global variables

Benefits

  • More user-friendly

  • Easier integration

Here's how

Webservice1

For the configuration, navigate to Request > HTTP Body and activate the Attach document option. Also select whether the document should be used in its original format or as a PDF without annotations.

New endpoints

Webservice2

The new endpoints work with the new "Attach document" option.

  • Append a new file: Append a file to a document in a file cabinet or document tray. If the target is a data record, this is automatically converted into a document.

  • Replace a file: Replace a file in a document with another file.

The existing endpoint "Create a new DB record" can also be used with the Attach document option to store a new document.
